May Day is Lei Day in Hawai'i!

Just thought I'd share what May Day looks like here! My grandaughters are students at a Hawaiian language immersion school, and hula is included in their curriculum...so here are 2 of my beauties!

I bet that was a fun day watching that happen. Their school sounds interesting. Is it more like a private school? I can't wait to someday go visit Hawaii.

Hi Janice!
Oh yes! I love watching the kids dance the different hula they learn! Their school is actually a public charter school & they teach all aspects of our culture to all interested children! The usual math, history, etc is incorporated into the cultural...And there's LOTS of outdoor learning, that's the best part of it!
I so have yet to post pictures of what I've been up to! And ALL the baby stuff I had been busy with, left with my son last weekend BEFORE I remembered that I HAD NO PICTURES OF THOSE! Grrrr! LOL! Now I have to wait til I finish the next batch of baby things!
Thanks for stopping by!

That was always my favorite time of year in Hawaii...when we were in school we'd make our own costumes for Lei Day and each class would do their dance! I miss it so! Thanks for the glimpse back!
